Silktide Ltd own Brandpa or you can say that Brandpa is is a trademark of Silktide.
Brandpa is a place where you can find a registered domain name that compliments your business. The website includes domains from over 30 industries, for instance tech, education, finance, healthcare. Each domain comes with a matching logo and banners that help you visualise your brand on desktop, mobile and stationery.
Prone & Cons:
Argument 1. Cyber squatting is registering a name with a purpose of reselling it at a profit. This is what Brandpa all about. Plus a bit of design.
Argument 2. Pretty sure it’s registering the names of well known brands. I don’t think the intention here is to defraud anyone.
Argument 3. Cyber squatting is “registering, trafficking in, or using an Internet domain name with bad faith intent to profit from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else.” These are not registered in bad faith, not trademarked terms and don’t belong to anyone except for the registered owner who is offering to sell them.
Argument 4. If someone is registering domains not for their own use, but to sit on them until someone comes along who has an actual use for the domain so that they can charge them a premium that sounds like cybersquatting to me. If they were actually using these domains I would agree with you sure, but justifying it by acting like what they’re doing is better than what anyone else is doing just sounds like an excuse.
CEO of Brandpa SAYS: hello Product Hunters! We were tired of trying to find decent domain names for our startups. So we created a marketplace that specialises in them. Brandpa is a place where you can find a registered domain name that compliments your business. The website includes domains from over 30 industries, for instance tech, education, finance, healthcare. Each domain comes with a matching logo and banners that help you visualise your brand on desktop, mobile and stationery. We built Brandpa because we thought it’d be useful to have a place where you can get a business name quickly whilst building your startup at the same time ?? Would love to hear your thoughts! Happy exploring! .
Argument 5. This is cool. Feels rather expensive at first sight, but when I think of it, having all this custom made takes a lot of TIME and you pay the money anyway, so this might be a wise choice. Let alone most branding agencies will come up with tons of nonsense explanation about how the brand their designed expresses this and that, to justify the crazy price, when it’s really just about good looking, simple, memorable name+logo. Thumbs up from me.
Argument 6. But, if you are bootstrapping I doubt this makes sense. Simply get a good-ish domain and hack together a logo.
BRANDPA AT NAME PROS
Jowita Emberton said: . Hi there! I’m sorry your experience with BB wasn’t pleasant: / If you’d like to try our marketplace please don’t hesitate to do so. We’re new in the domaining industry but very eager to learn! Let me know what you think or if you have any question. Granted.
The founder, @Jowita Emberton , had introduced herself in an earlier thread. Hi guys! NamePros is a great website to get invaluable information about the domaining industry. As a reader, I’m here pretty much every day. As a writer, I’m starting today. I’m the founder of Brandpa (brandpa.com), a domain name marketplace similar to BB, BR or Namerific. We use AI and human knowledge to create and judge the names’ value according to how easy to pronounce and catchy they are. I’m here to learn, get to know you and your recent experiences with other brandable name marketplace. We’re still developing the business so any insight on our site (brandpa.com) or anything you’re missing from other marketplaces will be very useful.
According to her LinkedIn, she has been operating BrandPa since August 2016. Though, the last cached Archive.org screenshot is a server error on October 4, 2016. Currently, there are 562 domains published / listed on BrandPa. It appears most domains listed are hand egged by the owners. Not 100% on this; I will run a check when my program is working again. After reviewing their listings, I found two errors. The domain regged is MonoRaptor.com, but the text reads ManoRaptor.co. New site. Assuming low organic traffic, and low type-in traffic due to quality and quantity of inventory.
Reviews are all from .co.uk domains, yet BrandPa doesn’t sell any .co.uk domains. A quick glance at other domains owned by the reviewers and I wasn’t able to verify any brandable .com’s with history tracing back to BrandPa.
Personal thoughts: I respect that they “allow the seller to submit more domain names” by not charging a listing fee. To me this shows they are willing to work for your exclusivity. Should they gain popularity, I wonder if they’ll sustain this business model and/or if their logo / listing quality will decrease over time when resources are spread across the masses.

BRANDPA SAYS in reply of “A quick glance at other domains owned by the reviewers and I wasn’t able to verify any brandable .com’s with history tracing back to BrandPa … Reviews are all from .co.uk domains, yet BrandPa doesn’t sell any .co.uk domains. That’s right. My husband and I were selling domain names offline before we officially launched Brandpa.com – these domain names were sold before then.
- “Piggy-back branding off BrandBucket in site footer. I think this is a fair way to attract people who are searching for alternatives to BrandBucket. It’s designed to rank in search engines, e.g. we’re 1st on Google for “alternative to BrandBucket” in the US and UK right now. 4. “Cons: Low Alexa Ranking”. We’re less than 6 months old and clearly have less traffic than BB and some other marketplaces. However, I can say our traffic is growing fast, and that Alexa is definitely playing catch up (check again in a month or so). By way of credibility, my husband has built some pretty high traffic sites. Silktide.com is ranked 35,804th, above BrandBucket. Insites.com is 186,801st (and was unranked around April last year.
To grow Brandpa’s traffic we have free tools high quality blog and a lot more coming in the near future. We put a LOT more design effort into making names look great, e.g. take a look at us and compare with other marketplace.
Brandpa averages 21,000 visits per month and growing.
Can someone from Brandpa share their recent sales for last two or three months? Would be interested to see some data regarding traffic as well. 1,89. Just had a look at brandpa and I like the look of the website and saw a couple of names on the first and second page that are worth a lot more than the price they are advertised at in my opinion and no they are not mine lo. But at those prices irrespective of any current sales data there are some good names and logos on brandpa and they will soon produce sales based on current names and the very reasonable prices of the names on brandp. Websiteoptimisation. Com and loved i. And I like site price too but tried another website optimisation or valuation website that apparently had something to do with Silktide because before using this website my website would appear in Google images as my website with my domain name as it should do obviously, but after it was scanned through a website owned by or Silktide itself my website still appeared in Google images but then my website appeared with the Silktide domain at the bottom of my website s picture in Google image rankin. And as good as brandpa looks and it looks good I now can’t think of brandpa without thinking of how annoyed I was seeing Silktide web address on my website pic in Googl. platey said: . There are at least 30+ decent brands on brandpa that are good neat reasonably priced brands that should be snapped up quite quick I would have though. They are new and they are continuously adding more names to the marketplace. I had a talk with @Jowita Emberton regarding the upcoming developments in Brandpa and she was happy to share some of the upcoming features such as. 1. They have been consistently working on a search algorithm which is fast, easy to browse and with almost every filter. 2. Smart newsletters which will be sent based on the category of interest. For example, if you are interested in Tech related names, you will be receiving only tech related names instead of the hundreds of unwanted names you have no interest in. 3. Analytics feature is in development which will show. How often a domain is shown in search result. How often a domain is featured, e.g. on our homepage or About pag. How often a domain is visited from an external source, e.g. an ad, social post, or traffic to the domain itsel. How often a domain is favourite. brandpa loads quicker than b. What will make a difference to domain investors is although the prices appear lower than bb this will produce more sales to domain investors which will bring more liquidity in to the domain industry via end user through domain investor of which some no doubt will be reinvested in to portfolios and renewals via registrar etc et. 80. I’m quite happy with Brandpa. Currently I don’t have any published names (only accepted ones waiting for a logo), but the site looks clean, nice, and it’s very fast. My BB names’ pages usually load in more than 10 seconds, which is unacceptable, but it’s less than 1s on Brandpa, which is cool. Their inventory is very small at the moment (compared to BB), and their Alexa rank is skyrocketing (it improved 4 million positions in the last 3 months), so I’m kind of optimistic about this marketplac. 2,99. Of course, the desired rank would be less than 100. @Jowita Emberton :First of all congrats on this challenging endeavor. Secondly since its been advertised that there are no listing fee charges for sellers, why is there a discrepancy as highlighted below. It says the payment is taken only when the domains are accepted. Isn’t that where the listing part comes in?Kindly clarify. My personal opinion. At present Brandpa doesn’t charge me as a domain holder / submitter. So now it is free of charge. Probably, at later stages there will be some sort of a fee. Yaay, 4 of my accepted domains have been publishe. My personal opinion. BRANDPA – PAID AND FAKE REVIEWS: Here is a Paid review which we found online about BRANDPA AND WE MUST EXPOSE PAID FAKE REVIEW
I’m a huge fan of brandable domains. I collect brandable domains for making either personal websites and projects or to sell it to startups. I’ll be pretty honest to admit that I want my websites to appear unique. If I can’t find a premium keyword domain which fits in my budget, I always go for brandable domain names. I see domain names with two perspectives, one is the keyword domains such as Booking.com or Apple.com and the other as creative brandable names such as Google.com and Tumblr.com. In both the cases the domain name makes a huge brand name and value. I look for domain names that draws attention. We all want good brand names no matter if we are using it for a billion dollar company or for a personal project. There are lots of brandable domain marketplaces where you can buy your desired brandable domain name such as BrandBucket, Brandpa, Brandroot and Namerific. This post is my personal experience between the latest Brandpa.com and the age old BrandBucket.com marketplace. Brandpa is a new brandable domain marketplace and a sister company of Delighten.co.uk ( a Derby based web design agency). The marketplace is reliable to buy brandable domain names for your business. You can also sign up with them as a seller and sell your domain inventory. BrandBucket has been in the brandable business for a long time. But because of its history of sellers accusing them for malpractices, I would probably stay away from BrandBucket henceworth. I’m not a big seller their(just around 23 domains listed which I’ve planned to remove). But didn’t have a single sale since I joined the marketplace two years before. The marketplace is biased in listing process towards other sellers and that’s enough for me to stay away from them. The marketplace is just not ethical in business. Although BrandBucket has been in the field for many years, I would still like to go with the newcomer Brandpa.com because of the following reasons. For Sellers. For Buyers. Here are some more features that Brandpa has advantage over BrandBucket which are in development and will be soon rolled out. 1. Best-in-class search. They have been working on making what it seems will be the best domain/brand search of any marketplace: fast, easy to browse and with almost every filter and option you could think of. 2. Smart newsletters. BB and other marketplaces have newsletters that tend to drown the recipient in names. But as we know this doesn’t help the sellers much. Hence Brandpa is soon launching newsletters that are tailored for the recipient, i.e. they only contain names about an area they are interested in (say tech names, or drone names). They believe this will be very effective in selling brandable domain names. 3. Analytics. Brandpa has been developing a custom analytics solution for them which will soon be available for sellers. The analytics section will have some great tracking information regarding your domains such as . How often a domain is shown in search result. How often a domain is featured, e.g. on our homepage or About pag. How often a domain is clicked o. How often a domain is visited from an external source, e.g. an ad, social post, or traffic to the domain itsel. How often a domain is favourite. How often a domain is viewed for more than 30 second. How often someone starts to buy a domain (i.e. clicks “Buy now”. 4. Massively improved seller interface. In addition to analytics, Brandpa is also adding a two-way conversation area within the seller’s dashboard where you will be able to discuss pricing, wording, logos etc. The marketplace is also going to add a log of key events that happen on your domain names, for example ; when a domain is listed, if any offer is made on one if it is shared on the homepage etc. They are having pretty solid start. I hope they continue to grow and add more brandable domain names. P.S: As always this article is not affiliated with Brandpa and not a promotional post. There are no affiliate links.
